Call for Presentations

The 2020 National Safety Council Southern Safety Conference & Expo

New Orleans, LA May 6-8

The National Safety Council invites you to submit a proposal for consideration as a presentation at the 2020 NSC Southern Safety Conference & Expo (formerly the Texas Safety Conference & Expo). The purpose of the NSC SSCE is to provide safety, health and environmental professionals with access to a high-quality yet affordable program that includes educational opportunities, networking events and an Expo floor. We look forward to your proposal submission as your knowledge and expertise would be a great asset to the strong educational component of our program.

Submission Deadline

Proposals must be submitted by Tuesday
, October 15.  Submissions will be reviewed by the SSCE Conference Program Committee and submitters will be notified of the Committee's decision by November/December 2019.

Submission Requirements

  • Proposals must be submitted via the online application.
  • Speaker availability must be confirmed prior to proposal submission.
  • Proposals must detail what will be learned by attending the proposed session(s).
  • Proposals must be from 30-60 minute presentations.
  • Proposals must be for presentation delivered as either a lecture or panel discussion (limit of 4 panelists per presentation).
  • Presentations that share new trends or a unique learning opportunity will be given special consideration.
  • Speakers are responsible for all expenses incurred. However, speakers will receive a Full Conference & Expo registration, which includes access to the Expo Floor and Technical Sessions (access to the Professional Development Seminar held pre-Conference is not included).

Education Levels

Participants include the "newcomers" and the "veteran" professionals alike. All possess a varied level of experience and expertise. In order to meet the growing experience of our Attendees, special consideration will be given to submissions from the Intermediate and Advanced Categories:


Geared toward the attendee who is:

• New to the safety industry and has had little or no training

• 1-3 years experience


Geared toward the attendee who:

• Has experience in the field and wants to build on it

• 4-9 years experience


Geared toward the attendee who:

• Is considered a “seasoned” safety and health professional

• 10+ years experience
